Constituents of the Mind (CoM), in CONSCIOUSNESS STUDIES, presents the basic ingredients of what the definition of the Mind is within a proposed Time Frame. These constituents will be the basic building blocks for our studies of the Mind, Consciousness, the \'I\' and/or the Self.  :::  Gabonese Politics: What has President Ali Bongo so far done with Gabon\'s oil profits? AN INTRODUCTION TO THIS WEBSITE

Welcome to my website. My name is Ayad Izzet Gharbawi, and I am from Iraq, but I have lived most of my life in England, and most of my studies were in the US. Among my interests, which you will see within this website, are writting non-fiction and fiction books; writing poetry and articles on various subjects. I am also deeply interested in writing on Consciousness Studies, such as what defines the 'Mind'/the 'Self'/the 'I'/'Consciousness' and what are the Constituents of the Mind. I also paint, oil on canvas, mainly women, with Egon Schiele and Vincent van Gogh as my main sources of inspiration.

Over the years, I have become more and more of a misanthrope - the years of loving all people and fighting for all humanitarian causes, have long been discarded. Over the years, I have gradually discovered, to my disgust , anger and shock, that Man is basically a nasty creature. I believe, that were it not for laws, the police, the courts and prisons - most people would not hesitate to steal, murder, rape, vandalise and do anything that they desire - in order to do what they see as furthering their ambitions.

Man is, at heart, a sick beast, that is actually far more evil than animals; for Man thinks in a million ways as to how he or she can be cruel, evil, hurtful, deceitful and psychotic. Man is a deluded creature, who does not even know 'who' he/she are. Man is a lost creature, floating in his/her lifetime; not knowing what the 'aim' and what the point of life is. The only thing that Man is certaiun of -  is to committ evil unto others.

So, if you are a romantic or an idealist, or if you believe that we humans can 'change the world', then, this website is certainly not for you!

Friends are simply two people who see mutual benefits that can be accrued from each other, and they then proceed to be civil, 'nice' and most of all, they act 'friendly' to one another. That's how society then grants them the classification of 'friends'! Same with marriage. Once the drug-like adolescent phase withers away, the 'husband' and the 'wife' are no more, than two humans who see mutual benefits in staying together. Love certainly places no role here. Indeed, most marriages continue simply because the two sad humans see no other better alternative.

Once you realize that Man is basically an evil creature and and once you realize that life itself is nothing more than a horrendous, unjust and utterly unfair struggle for getting your sad wages paid, then you can start to live.

The Consciousness Studies papers, I believe, are extremely important, because they ultimately connect us to 'who' we are: too many studies on the 'Mind' get mired in too much psycho-babble, without ever explaining anything of actual substance. Others get too involved in the neuro-chemical studies angle, that, once again, leave us with an empty feeling. Yes, this neuron connects with that neuron, with the help of this molecule and that particular neurotransmitter- and then the article ends. So, what did we learn from all of that, when it comes to what the Mind is?  Nothing, really.

What is the 'Mind'? Is there a definition of what 'Consciousness' is? What makes one's 'Identity'? 'Who' are we when we are Unconscious? Is our Mind united, or are there other mental entities functioning within our Minds? Is the 'Self' one, or many? How can we define the 'Self' when the latter changes with time and experiences?

Closely connected to the Mind/Consciousness Studies is the study of Reality; just what is 'Reality'? Is Reality 'one', or 'many'? Is there a precise definition of Reality? What about the altered States of Reality in the Mind of the Observer? Ultimately these interconnected studies tie up with Quantum Physics and the implications of Quantum Physics.

I believe that Consciousness Studies can help us ultimately to understand 'who' we are; what makes up our Identity? Our sense of our Self? And going beyond our own Mind, what connections are there between different Minds? Does studying in this area get us into the realm of metaphysics? Or spirituality? I believe so, because it is from studying our Minds that enables us to feel a closer affinity with God, and the entire meaning to our existence.

I write poetry, which I feel gives meanings and expressions to qualities in life that cannot be expressed by straightforward language. Poetry breaks that barrier by using language but in a vastly different context! Here, there is much more freedom to express feelings, nuances, emotions that cannot, in my opinion, be captured by straightforward non-poetic language.

I also paint, and here, I feel more varieties of emotional freedom to express my mind, feelings; I feel that straightforward non-poetic language is a certain joy to use, but painting allows you to soar in within your lonely mind to explore strange feelings, passions within you.

Also, in Daily News & Thoughts, I write on subjects that come to my mind, but the difference here is that they are no more than two to three paragraphs. Why is that? Because, I do believe that in so many subjects, writers go on and on, just filling out empty pages - while the whole subject can be explained in a few, concise paragraphs! This problem especially exists with writers on pollitics - these are people who must write every day, often the same news and the same story, and yet, they must write again and again!  Well, I find it tedious to say the least. Too many subjects can be discussed in a few paragraphs and the I feel sorry for those who have to go on repeating the same story day after day, simply because they feel they must fill in the blanks!

I hope you enjoy this website!
