Nearly twenty years ago I wrote this article. Times change, but principles don't! For so many people seem to be resigned to living out their sad lives meekly and with no effort or expectation that anything will get better. And so the meek go on inexorably to their end.

Why does corruption in the West seem unrestrained? Again and again, we hear of this corporation or that company selling life threatening products or banks loaning people who are to risky to loan to in the first place! Are there no laws to regulate the market and companies in the West?

How can it be that former President Bill Clinton is so popular in the US and throughout the world when in truth he is responsible for the deaths of countless innocent people? How can people forget what he did in Iraq? Or Serbia? The answer: if you're a smooth, suave and charming enough politician, you'll be loved anywhere in the world.

The hardest thing for Man to do is to look at himself and study seriously his faults. It seems that it is nearly impossible for Man to do that!

How come over the years the poor are going nowhere, while the rich remain safe in western democracies? Nothing is changing - wether you have Demecratcs, Republicans, Consevatives or Labour party governments? Why is that? Is something at fault with the political-judicial systems of the western-style democracies?

Can opposites exist as one? Sounds dumb? Maybe not... Remember Ted Kennedy?

The really annoying things that must neccessarily curse in our daily lives; and what about, when we ourselves become that source of horrifying irritation unto others?!

What role does power play in politics? By 'power' I mean, seizing power. Is politics about getting in office? Or, do political parties and politicians actually have well studied policies for their nations?

People sometimes say that politics is a complex subject; I cannot disagree more. Politics is Man, and Man is Politics, and it is all about furthering one's self interests.

Why are we frivolous? Why do we fret over inane subjects?

Our world's culture is increasingly moving towards ever increasing stupidity - wether it is in the arts, media, cinema, music and so on. There is a reason for this and there is a price for this.

Why are our lives guided by routinization that is so dreary?

Why are so many people bored with their lives, with their so-callede 'friends' and family; with their own selves? Why is there an epidemic of boredom in our lives? And why aren't we talking about this subject?

Do we know ourselves? Can we know ourselves? Do our 'selves' have a 'precise' definition in the first place?

Why do so many people need so many distrations in their daily lives?

Imagine a world where there is no God: can you life without God? What would life be without God? A Heaven or Hell on earth?

Why is so much of culture deathly boring?

When one thinks of the Bush/Cheney/Zionist regime, one cannot but be more than astonished at its 4 characteristics: its complete and publicly stated disregard for international laws, (such as the Geneva Conventions.

As the year 2008 recedes to its end, it is perhaps time to think over the passing year. From the personal point of view, many people may have suffered economically; and, a few – as usual – will have gained, in this most turbulent year, financially speaking. For some, they may have achieved nothing, and their lives may not have quite progressed in any meaningful way forward.
